The role
Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion (CR&I) has been identified as one of the firm's key priorities. The
firm's focus is on the need to ensure diversity throughout the firm, from entry level to partnership and to
be a responsible sustainable global business. There is an expectation from our people and our clients to
adopt a market leading approach.
This role is based in Dubai with a scope to support other regions i.e. Africa and APAC. The role is part of
the Global Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion (CR&I) team who are based in the London office,
reporting into Andy Dent, Global Head of Corporate Responsibility & Inclusion, Sara Khoja, and Wayne
Jones - partners in Dubai.
The purpose of this role is to raise awareness of and to help co-ordinate the firm's global strategies and
initiatives. It supports the development of the firm's Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion (CR&I)
programme in MEA and APAC in our key areas: community, pro bono, diversity and inclusion and
environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with delivering the firm's CR&I strategy, policies and initiatives in the MEA and APAC region in
- Be the firm's representative for CR&I activities and projects within MEA and APAC;
- Promote awareness of our firm's CR&I initiatives internally and externally and maintain the network of
- Establish cooperative relationships with charity representatives and non-profit organisations, client
- Chair and prepare for and attend the MENA Community Council meetings and similar groups in other
- Contribute to Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion responses for pitches;
- Work with the Global CR&I team and local stakeholder to support the internal CR&I communication
- Manage spend with regards to the CR&I annual budget for MEA and APAC;
- Work closely with the global CR&I team to communicate activity and identify areas for collaboration;
- Assist with producing award submissions;
- Work with our Business Development team to further develop a client program for the firm to engage
- Represent the firm at external forums and events on behalf of the firm.
Pro-bono
- Coordinate the firm's pro bono activities in MEA and APAC, working with internal stakeholders to support
- Maintain existing pro bono relationships and where appropriate establish new projects and opportunities
- Responsible for reporting, billing of disbursements, pro bono hours audits, compliance and maintenance
- Coordinate pro bono projects including: overseeing and tracking office pro bono capacity and matter
- Act as a resource for lawyers working on pro bono matters;
- Keep updated on current trends in pro bono work;
- Coordinate pro bono training in conjunction with the pro bono Partner for lawyers and teaming clients;
- Assist in authoring pro bono publications, guides, articles and marketing materials.
- Be an Ambassador for ensuring and maintaining an inclusive working environment;
- Support the MEA Diversity & Inclusion committee, working groups, and similar groups in APAC to
- Align with and implement the firm's global strategy to improve D&I performance across the business;
- Partner closely with the recruitment teams to embed diversity and inclusions principles into all aspects of
- Work closely with HR colleagues to ensure our corporate responsibilities and diversity training is
- Report on all diversity stats for internal and external purposes.
- Coordinate the firm's MENA Art Award to deliver an impactful and engaging programme
- Develop and maintain relationships with charity and community partners
- Establish and coordinate volunteering opportunities aligned to the global CR&I strategy
- Coordinate data collection processes, to report on activity and it's impact in MEA and APAC
- Maintain relationships with partner charities selected in MEA and APAC promoting them within the firm
Environment
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop initiatives for protecting our environmental resources;
- Promote internal awareness of environmental issues to engage our staff and promote sustainable
- Support the firm's commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and Sustainability Goals
- Work with our Global Procurement team and our Risk and Compliance team to ensure a sustainable and

- Keep up to date with recent trends, research and competitor and client activity in the CR&I space;
- Represent the firm at external meetings and forums; and
- Work with the Global CR&I team on key projects.
The ideal candidate will:
- be educated to at least diploma level;
- have experience or a strong interest in Corporate Responsibility and Inclusion matters preferably within in a
- have strong project management skills, including the ability to work with multiple stakeholders;
- be flexible and have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail;
- have excellent interpersonal skills and referral skills;
- be team-focused but also able to work independently; and
- he able to prioritise and work towards deadlines.
