Brisbane Court Unit are recruiting 2 permanent full-time positions.

Mandatory qualification/requirements:
Possession of a tertiary degree relevant to the role such as social work, behavioural science or social science, criminology, legal studies or other recognised degree.
One of the referees should be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.
Travel is a requirement of this position, therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant hold a current “C” Class Drivers licence.
Court Coordinators are required to be available to be rostered to attend Childrens Courts convened on Saturdays and public holidays.

Communicates with influence - You structure messages clearly and succinctly in accordance to the audience and you communicate effectively and sensitively with young people and families/carers, in particular Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. You have the skills to advocate for a position and distil relevant information under pressure.
Role specific - You have well developed knowledge of Children's Court processes and technical knowledge of the Youth Justice Act 1992, other relevant legislation, policies, practices, trends and theories relating to young people, families, the causes of crime and the youth justice service system to appropriately represent the Department in youth justice court proceedings. You demonstrate an understanding of the purpose of casework within a youth justice framework and a commitment to early intervention principles.
