Introduction

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Post-doctoral fellow Bioinformatics.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• develop and run sequence analysis pipelines for NGS data as per need for research projects; human and pathogen sequence data
• work with assigned faculty on specific research projects and contribute to writing of grants and research papers
• set up necessary hardware, liase with IT staff for running and installing linux and server systems
• manage NGS data of core research lab and maintain backup
• correlate and interpret data for research studies
• develop new proposals, actively updating skills for new NGS analysis tools and conduct training for the same on campus

Requirements

You should be:

• a PhD in Bioinformatics
• experienced with handling and analysis of Next-generation sequencing (NGS) data
• experienced in sequence analysis for both human and pathogen data; whole genome, exome and RNA sequencing
• able to write scripts and develop analysis workflows for data to identify and annotate sequence variants
• experienced in analysing variants as per clinical significance using reference databases
