Billing and Payroll Associate - Immediate Temporary Opportunity

David Aplin Group, one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, has partnered with our client to recruit a Billing and Payroll Associate based in Winnipeg for an immediate temporary opportunity that could become temporary to hire.

The Role

• Reporting to the Billing Supervisor, this position is responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing of accounts billed and the accurate and timely payroll of Company drivers and owner operators.
• Responsible for rating and invoicing customers, as well as, rating and approving payroll for drivers.
• Ensure all billing and reporting deadlines are met.
• Produce the monthly revenue accrual for assigned accounts.
• Apply payroll rules from several different collective agreements and owner operator contracts to pay company drivers bi-weekly and Owner operators semi-monthly.
• Requires a general understanding of automated bookkeeping methods, techniques, and basic accounting principles.
• Maintain a good working relationship with customers and staff.
• Accurate and timely invoicing of assigned accounts.
• Accurate and timely paying of drivers.
• Open orders investigated and resolved.
• Perform duties while maintaining appropriate costs, quality standards and agreed upon customer service, timelines, and requirements.
• Perform duties in accordance with sector specific regulations, corporate timelines, performance standards and workplace safety and health policies and procedures.
  
  

The Ideal Candidate

• Education: Grade 12 or equivalent, post-secondary education in the accounting field preferred but not required.
• Years of Experience: Transportation experience is considered an asset. AR, billing and payroll experience are also considered assets.
• Must become proficient utilizing A1 (Freight Logix) transportation management system for billing and other related accounting functions.
• Independent transportation would be an asset.
• Two plus years of Data Entry experience required
• Own transportation preferred.
• This position pays between $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
