Experienced Consultant Life Sciences & Health

Company Name: ttopstart
Location: Netherland

Are you passionate about life sciences and health technologies, and do you offer helicopter views across markets and scientific fields? We certainly do, and need some extra hands. That is why we are looking for you, creative problem-solver, excellent writer, advisor and facilitator!

ttopstart in a nutshell? We are a group of dedicated professionals bursting with life sciences and healthcare knowledge, strategic advice and business planning skills. We co-design competitive strategies for our clients and strengthen teams to realize growth.

What will you do as an experienced consultant?

You have insight in state-of-the-art technologies and how to facilitate the commercialization process of these technologies. You are capable of, independently, managing large consortia taking into account different stakeholder perspectives. You are, just like us, dedicated to deliver high quality products and make a difference.

After whistling while going to work, your day at ttopstart looks like this:

  • A cup of coffee first of course. Then you start the working day with a short energetic update with your small team of consultants. You discuss new and ongoing projects and share best practices.
  • You continue preparing the framework for the consortium meeting later this week, in which 20 partners from around the world will have to agree on their contributions to the Innovative Medicines Initiative due next month.
  • You have a call with a potential client and aim to unlock the true potential of her exciting (bio)medical idea. Following the call, you define a strategic funding roadmap. You propose several ideas for exciting projects in which this leading researcher can collaborate with large companies, hospitals and/or SMEs.
  • You have lunch with your colleagues and, in addition to discussing the weather and weekend plans, instigate a lively discussion on the future of AI in healthcare.
  • You sit down with one of your team mates to refine the questions that should guide his market intelligence report. In this way, you help the client make smart and substantiated choices to get their innovation to the market faster and better.
  • You continue developing the impact section of an upcoming Horizon proposal and send it out for review. By posing the right questions you aim to solicit high-quality input from 10 partners.
  • At the end of the day, you have delivered new insights and ideas to your clients to ensure innovations are implemented faster and better, and research teams and businesses thrive.

And also ...

  • ... you get to work on a great variety of innovative projects in Europe;
  • ... you get to work in a challenging, entrepreneurial and international environment;
  • ... you get to work in an ambitious and creative team, with colleagues always ready to support, brainstorm or socialize;
  • ... you get to accelerate ideas and innovations that deliver better health and care;
  • ... you get training and coaching, good career opportunities, and a full (or part) time position;
  • ... you get to work from an office with the most amazing 360° view of Utrecht you have ever seen
  • ... work hard, play hard: every Friday vrijmibo drinks with your colleagues and regular dinners and events organized.

What do we expect from you?

  • You are driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the life sciences and health sector and are passionate about biomedical innovation.
  • You have 3-6 years of grant writing experience (FP7, H2020), this is a prerequisite;
  • You have in-depth knowledge of national and international funding schemes (e.g. H2020, NWO, ZonMw);
  • You have affinity for commercialisation of science and innovation;
  • You preferably have a PhD degree in life sciences, medtech or related;
  • You have experience in multi-stakeholder collaboration and managing teams (internal and external);
