    JOB PURPOSE

    Manage all financial, administrative and HR activities of Singapore Airlines (SIA) in the Gulf region in accordance with the corporate Financial & HR policies of the company and local legislation. Provide critical financial appraisals and inputs with respect to the country so that (a) country management can take decisions with full knowledge and awareness of financial implications and (b) HO/Regional Office can exercise effective financial control over country activities.



    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure timely and accurate recording, preparation and submission of periodic financial reports, etc., to enable the station transactions to be systematically recorded in the Company's main accounting and reporting systems.
    • Ensure proper screening and processing of invoices/claims so that amounts due to Company's creditors are correctly recorded and paid as per payment terms.
    • Ensure that credit control functions are effectively carried out. Manage Company debtors by continuously and proactively analyzing, identifying and covering credit risk so that revenues are maximized without jeopardizing Company receivables.
    • Ensure timely follow up and recovery of all debts including under collections so that all dues are recovered within the credit period allowed by the Company.
    • Ensure compliance to tax regulations such as UAE indirect tax (VAT) and corporate tax in offline points with timely filing by statutory deadlines.
    • Ensure strict cash flow management with timely repatriations where relevant.
    • Ensure compliance to budgetary control procedures to enable station to exercise effective control over departmental budgets.
    • Implement adequate controls on Company assets (including verification, insurance, custodianship, authorized utilization and proper maintenance) to ensure that they are safeguarded.
    • Proactively seek areas of improvement in processes and procedures at station and recommend changes or automation proposals (wherever feasible) which not only benefit station but positively impact the entire network.
    • Submit special reports/recommendations to HO on significant developments affecting the Company's financials so that necessary steps can be taken in co-ordination with the HO for proper handling of such developments.
    • Provide Finance leadership at the station and develop finance awareness amongst the non-finance business units through regular meetings so that the station can take financially sound and cost-effective decisions.
    • Handle various HR related and general administration functions at the station.



    RELEVANT QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Good university degree, preferably with Honours, in Business Administration, Business Management, Business Studies, Commerce, Business Informatics, Accounting, Finance or Economics.
    • Recognized professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA or similar).
    • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience, of which at least 3 years must be in a senior supervisory capacity. Proven experience in working in the airline industry including knowledge in airline accounting procedures and familiarity with IATA regulations with regards to Passenger/Cargo/Excess Baggage sales is an asset.
    • Experience in accounting systems (preferably in SAP).
    • Knowledge of rules and procedures under the local laws to take care of statutory requirements as necessary.
    • Experience in dealing with various internal and external stakeholders at different levels in a multi-national environment.
    • Proficient in MS Office with an excellent command of English, verbal and written communication skills.
