About Your Job

In this position, the responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:

• F & B Porter:

  • Ensure all cleaning and clearing activities are performed as per the Quality Assurance program and standards
  • Ensure cleaning o f all soiled tables utilizing the correct methods and materials
  • Proper handling of dishwashing machines- its operation, cleaning and filling
  • Ensure highest standards and hygiene practices at all times
  • Ensure uninterrupted supply of clean equipment to user departments as per flight schedules and production requirements
  
  

• Warehouse Porter:

  • Assist Warehouse Team by carrying out all physical work of handling stocks and materials entering or leaving QDF Warehouse and at the the destination where the items are being delivered.
  • Assist operations by supporting inward QC (quality and quantity checks), onward QC of stock and participate in stock takes.
  • The role involves physical loading and unloading of goods from containers to trucks, re arranging stocks on pallets or bins, pushing cages manually, using pallet jacks to move pallets and any other work assigned by the Warehouse Officer and Supervisors on a time to time basis.
  
  

• Retail Porter:

  • Receive stock from the Warehouse and storage, and deliver stock as per the shop requirements, ensuring stocks are in the right place at the right time to maximize sales opportunity whilst shortages, breakages are kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Handle all goods with utmost care and ensure safe movement of stock to ensure minimum damages occur.
  • Facilitate cleanliness of all operational area and equipment in the sub- stores to maintain a hassle- free work space.
  • Follow all guidelines in relation to HIA Health and Safety, and immediately report any accidents or breaches to the Assistant Merchandiser on a timely manner
  • Perform other department duties related to the position as directed by the Head of the Department
  
  

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• High School qualification
• Up to 2 years of experience
• Physical / manual handling work experience
• Ability to communicate in English
• Ability to lift / move / monoeuvre goods up to 165 lbs.
• Ability to pull heavy carts of stock through the facility
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift and reach during the entire length of shift
• Ability to foster teamwork among team members
• Ability to schedule and prioritize workflow
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
