The Product Officer will be responsible for supporting the Qatar Holidays products team in the development of new products. This will involve research of the leisure market trends from each market, the preparation of products for their release to market including costing and copy writing. Under the supervision of the Lead Products Officer there will also be a requirement to undertake contract and rate negotiations and the evaluation of such.
The key accountabilities of the position include;
Ensure on time release of products to Qatar Holidays website and marketing team.
Identify suppliers from which the division could benefit from contracting with and handle the contracting process booking environment.
Negotiate appropriate value addition and unique services for different products that will draw a line of differentiation between Qatar Holidays products and competitor products.
Engage with Outstations to ensure product development meets market requirements and benchmark selling prices.
Benchmark studies for contracts obtained.
Finalize hotel/supplier contracts and agreements.
Upload and set-up rates of direct hotel and contracts obtained through suppliers who do not have XML connection, to the online booking system to support dynamic packaging, fixed packages and shopping cart module.
Develop and maintain a broad portfolio of leisure products that adapts to various market segments across the Qatar Airways network.
Provide an in-house package cost sheet, support tactical initiatives across the network.
Analyse and evaluate competitor product, rates, tactical offers and marketing initiatives. Develop and recommend suitable product and pricing strategy to counter the impact.
Provide e-briefs for Qatar Holidays Operations, Agents, Sales, Travel Agents and Outstations.
Qualifications;
A relevant College or University Qualification to minimum Bachelor's level is essential.
An additional Travel Industry qualification eg; IATA or UFTAA is preferred
Previous Experience;
Its essential candidates have a minimum of 4 years related experience
Previous work experience in a ravel Agency or Tour Operator
Product and Contracting Sales experience in a Travel industry environment
Airfare and GDS experience is preferred as is Copy Writing and Web Content management experience.
