The Market P&L Group is responsible for overseeing and maximizing risk-adjusted profitability across Oscar’s book of business. As Oscar continues to expand into markets across the nation, the Senior Manager within the National Insights & Execution (NIE) team will play a critical role in shaping and implementing Oscar’s strategy in relation to contracting, provider engagement, and alignment with providers to improve the quality and total cost of care for Oscar’s members. As a key contributor within the NIE team, the Senior Manager will ensure we achieve critical financial targets and work with stakeholders across the company to drive growth, profitability, and high quality experiences with Oscar (for members and providers).

As a Senior Manager on the team, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and leaders to analyze and drive forward Oscar’s business goals with respect to maximizing profits across markets, and drive the evolution of our business strategies. You will play a critical role in identifying, prioritizing and quantifying the key profit opportunities for the Market P&L teams, working to develop playbooks to achieve those goals and ensuring that the deal teams within the Market P&L group are aligned toward maximizing risk-adjusted profitability.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Be To
- Identify, quantify, and rigorously prioritize national-level financial insights and opportunities for savings and optimization across our markets that will ensure Oscar’s long-term sustainability and growth, and work with internal departments and leaders to execute on these insights.
- Support the needs of the National Insights & Execution (NIE) team by doing market research, data analysis, benchmarking and supporting workflows to drive company profitability across multiple focus areas.
- Manage and respond to national-level escalations and trends based on input from other Oscar stakeholders.
- Build processes, workflows and a systematic approach to profitability, while ensuring that NIE is well-integrated into the workflows and processes of the Market P&L team as a whole.
- Ensure a high-quality Oscar experience for members and providers.
- Ensure a high standard of excellence for both expansion and existing operations.
Key components for success include:
- 6+ years of work experience in consulting and/or financial analysis. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred but not required.
- A strong financial/analytical background, and the ability to quickly digest and evaluate complex financial structures and large amounts of data in order to make commercially intelligent business decisions.
- Executive presence and ability to communicate with and lead presentations for senior leaders, including C-level executives both internally and externally.
- Strength in insights and execution involving complex economics and communication thereof with internal and external stakeholders.
- Orientation towards designing processes systematically while being able to execute quickly within a fast-paced, fluid and goal-oriented environment.
- An MBA or other professional degree from a top-tier program with a clear track record of excellence.
- Experience with growth-stage enterprises and scaling departments and processes.
