MLSE Foundation is currently seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial professional to serve as the Coordinator, Community Investment. You will support the design and implementation of the comprehensive, community-centered investment projects for MLSE Foundation. You will collaborate with other MLSE Foundation staff to identify key project outcomes, design and develop the framework for project implementation, build partnerships with grassroots agencies, consult on practical outcome models for measurement and support the MLSE Foundation team in implementing project milestones.

You have experience working in diverse communities, developed experience working on community-driven projects, and knowledge of non-profit networks across Ontario. You possess a focused, strategic and hands-on approach to project design with a sharp focus on community and sector engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the revitalization of community spaces, utilizing internal and external expertise and relationships.
  • Oversee increasing capacity building opportunities for new partner organizations that are relevant to sectoral needs.
  • Identify and examine net-new Community Investment opportunities based on MLSE Foundation’s Theory of Change and shared MLSE LaunchPad learnings.
  • Coordinate program planning and implementation oversight for projects in portfolio in collaboration with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), Program Finance, Global Directors of Country Operations and the Global Program Development teams.
  • Lead events: planning and logistics, briefings, guest management and post-event reporting.
  • Develop and prepare internal and external reports of status, progress and outcomes of project activities.
  • Remain up-to-date on new research and best practices that will enhance the quality and standards of program implementation.
  • Grow support for Indigenous community sport programs, by supporting MLSE Foundation’s Indigenous Investment Strategy.
  • Support the coordination and development of proposals as well as program and project communication/stewardship materials.
  • Coordinate program planning and implementation oversight for projects in portfolio in collaboration with programs and measurement and evaluation.
  • Based on the identification of needs, coordinate and participate in planning and support visits to relevant countries.
  • Coordinate the reporting system, tracking shared metrics across all partners to increase reportability of outcome metrics.
  • Document, share and communicate project successes and lessons learned.

REQUIREMENT

  • 3-5 years’ experience in community impact work.
  • Experience designing programs/projects for diverse communities, and overseeing project budgets.
  • Experience overseeing project budgets.
  • Strong problem solving and group work leadership skills.
  • Proven track record of interacting with senior business, government and non-profit leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent strategic thinking skills, with the ability to operationalize concepts and transform ideas into action
  • Strong critical thinking and conceptual skills to think and plan strategically and the ability to translate this into practical and feasible operational program planning both in written and verbal formats
  • Ability to apply research findings to ongoing project development
  • Knowledge of current issues affecting the community services sector
  • Excellent ability to interact with diverse communities and community organizations.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • High professional standards with the ability to see big picture and manage practical details
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
