Data Center Technician 1

We are looking for a Data Center Technician who is detail-oriented, proficient with technologies and hardware, and who flourishes in high-pressure environments. Data center technicians generally work with numerous software programs including Microsoft and Linux operating systems, vendors and other technical staff, and often need to do field analysis and maintenance.

Their responsibilities include installation of data center equipment, maintaining accurate inventory, improving operating environments, creating repair strategies, and providing technical support for system and network engineers.

Successful data center technicians should have good communication and collaboration skills, excellent analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills. Ideal candidates will also have experience with OS installation setup and configuration, understanding of network concepts, experience with Linux and windows operating systems, and experience with Cisco CLI.

Data Center Technician Responsibilities
  • Installation of new hardware
  • Setup and configuration of servers/network gear
  • Maintaining datacenter hardware while supporting system and network engineers
  • Assist with trouble isolation within a datacenter environment
  • Working with vendors on new turn-ups, maintenance, or trouble isolation
  • Vendor RMA of faulty equipment
  • Maintaining datacenter inventory including spares depot


Position Requirements
  • 1+ years experience with data center equipment installs
  • Must be able to travel
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs
  • Must have a valid license and car
  • Need a valid passport and be able to fly
  • Know how to use software tools for local and remote equipment access
