Description

Stantec is currently seeking Hydraulic Modeller for our Qatar operation. The scope of work will cover the building of hydraulic models for gravity lines, foul water, pressurised water systems and networks.

Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

• Investigation, concept and detailed designs for gravity lines, pressurised water systems and networks
• Involved in a variety of schemes undertaking audit/ reviews of model build and verification, using existing or new models to understand system performance and using the models to review the design of both the Wastewater and Surface Water Networks.
• Using relevant modelling packages such as InfoWater, InfoWorks WS, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, Hammer, WANDA, and HYTRAN to provide advice, review solutions leading to successful project outcomes.
• Maintain communication and develop on-going contacts internally, with delivery partners, client and key stakeholders.
• Preparation of technical specifications, tendering and contract administration.
• Engineering analysis, technical writing, design calculations, specifications, and drawings on projects
• Successfully support project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques
• Assist in project administration including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• Review work performed by designers and administrative staff.
• Good understanding and previous experience with water and wastewater networks in the UAE.
• Carrying out work to agreed budgets and timelines
• Assist with the preparation of cost estimates for project design and construction.
• Collaboration and working as part of a team
• Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
• Work under the direction of the Principal Engineer;
• Conduct field inspections under the supervision of the Technical Lead, and Client Engineer representative.
• Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks, and project.

• Experience in utility diversions and management
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

Qualifications

• University Degree in Civil Engineering, post-graduate degree is preferred.
• Approximately 8-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experienced in potable water demand estimation, modelling, foul water, model calibration and design of pressure networks.
• Experienced in pressure network modelling software such as InfoWater, WaterGEMS, WaterCAD, etc. InfoWater experience is preferred.
• Experience in InfoMaster software is a plus.
• Experience in surge modelling and design of surge mitigation measures is a plus.
• Experience in TSE irrigation demand estimation, network modelling and design is a plus.
