As the Finance Officer, Operations you will:
  • Process financial transactions and manage the regions assets, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of data in the financial accounting systems, in accordance with relevant financial management legislative and policy requirements.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of systems and processes that contribute to the achievement and enhancement of outcomes through improved financial and resource management, the provision of best practice services, systems and policies and the provision of professional analysis and advice.
The Finance Officer, Operations reports to a Team Leader or Manager, Financial Advisory Services within the Region. This role works with a range of people from administration officers to senior officers, who have varying skills and experience with finance. Dedication to delivering excellence in client relationship management is essential for success in this role.
As the Finance Officer, Operations, you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Undertake and process allocated work in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.
  • Provide a customer focussed support service through maintaining and enhancing administrative systems and processes to maximise the effectiveness of services to schools or the region.
  • Provide a range of administrative and financial support, advice and assistance in a team based environment.
  • Prioritise and schedule work commitments to meet agreed service standards.
  • Prepare draft correspondence and assist in the preparation of manuals and reports.
  • Provide information, as required, to clients on services provided.
  • Administer the day to day financial matters, monitoring, reporting, purchasing, invoicing as well as reconciliation and preparation of accounts for payment.
  • Input, update and retrieve relevant finance information in the department's financial management systems and maintain a high level of data integrity and accuracy.
  • Assist the development and implementation of improved systems and procedures, dealing with expenditure, revenue, general ledger accounting and administration.
  • Actively participate in the development, implementation, review and maintenance of processes and work practices and identify and report areas for improvement and recommend/implement enhancements to existing practices.
