you have extensive experience developing engaging and creative internal
communications? Can you design and deliver communications strategies for
complex and nuanced subjects and provide advice to senior leaders? The
Palace of Westminster is home to one of the busiest and most historic
parliamentary institutions in the world and is an enduring symbol of our
national identity. As one of the top 5 most recognisable buildings in the
world, the Palace is visited by millions of tourists each year. The Houses
of Parliament Restoration and Renewal Programme is being set up to tackle
all the work necessary to protect and preserve this UNESCO World Heritage
site. It will be the biggest renovation of a historic building ever
undertaken in the UK. Two separate bodies, Sponsor Body and Delivery
Authority, are being created through legislation to oversee and execute the
programme of works, to ensure a properly functioning and safe environment
for those who work there and visitors. The Programme is a high value,
technical, business critical and politically complex environment which will
attract intense scrutiny. Strategic Communications will therefore be
integral to the success of the Programme, in explaining and promoting it to
the public, the media and a wide range of external and internal
stakeholders. The Head of Internal Communications will play a vital role in
uniting all those working for the Sponsor Body and Delivery Authority. You
will develop a robust and compelling channels and content strategy, which
will then be implemented through a network of business partners. This role
will require you to have the gravitas and enthusiasm to inspire a
fast-growing workforce of parliamentary employees and private sector
contractors as a single collaborative team with a single strategic vision.
Experience of achieving results in a start-up style environment will be
beneficial. In turn we are offering the following benefits: * Annual leave
starting at 30 days pro rata * Civil Service Pension scheme * Interest-free
season ticket loan * Discounted membership of the in-house gym All
applications must be submitted on a House of Commons application form. More
information on this role and the full criteria can be found on the job
