ROLE SUMMARY

This is a full time PGS site HR and IR role to support Karachi PGS LSM site. This role will be responsible for leading and sustaining organizational development initiatives that enhance the site’s culture and drive business priorities. Successful candidate will partner with and coach site leadership to ensure sustained focus on growth, talent retention, and talent development across the site. Must be a credible Influencer and have passion for excellence to deliver strong results. In addition to this this position will also be responsible to manage complete PGS IR & Admin portfolio.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be able to lead PGS HR with Courage and Integrity
  • Partner with Emerging Markets PGS Site HR Lead, PGS Global HR Lead, PGS Leadership team and Commercial & Regional HR teams to understand the work requirements and strategies and lead ongoing change management requirements
  • Develops and Implement people strategy and culture aspects of business priorities ensuring plans are efficient, consistent and legally sound
  • Drive the efficient planning and execution of annual and routine people processes and provide timely and effective coaching to managers on the rationale, policy and good management practice that underpin the effective conduct of those processes and programs:
    • Career Management (i.e. transfers, promotions, international moves)
    • Talent Management & Acquisition
    • Performance Management
    • Compensation management including annual Compensation processes
    • Industrial relations
    • Leader Coaching and advice
    • HR Operations & Budgeting
  • Ensure planning and successful execution of colleague lifecycle activities in support of the cultural aspirations of the site: on-boarding and off-boarding, promotions, recognition
  • Responsible for maintaining industrial peace, harmony and cordial relations with CBA and shall ensure compliance of various applicable labor laws and CBA agreements.
  • Be able to represent organization at various internal and external sites and to act as a Factory Notified Manager.
  • Responsible for harmoniously settlement of Charter of Demand.
  • Custodian of discipline and advice modalities to proceed with disciplinary action and make necessary arrangements as per local labor laws.
  • Collaborate/partner with company lawyers for Strategies, Changes in labor laws, Labor Court Cases etc.
  • Responsible to ensure registration of all insurable employees under EOBI, SESSI, Education CESS and payments thereof and filing of returns under applicable labor laws. Timely Claim management is also required.
  • Responsible for maintaining good relations with government agencies and officials.
  • Responsible for establishing clear terms and conditions of contracts with the assistance of lawyer, monitor conduct of contractual employees and verifying the payments to contractors.
  • Responsible for monitoring actual v/s authorized regular (unionized) as well as contractual manning in all divisions/departments.
  • To manage following administrative and operational issues/matters of Plant:
  • Attendance and Time office
  • Overtime of CWs and FTEs
  • Fleet and Pool cars of PGS
  • Cafeteria
  • Dispensary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, LLB would be preferred

  • At least 5 years progressive experience in Human Resources including organizational development, talent acquisition, employee relations, coaching, communication, training, compensation.
  • 02 to 03 years’ experience at Managerial level in a progressive manufacturing setup and handling of CBA/IR matters.
  • Excellent skills in the following areas: leadership, integration, facilitation, complex problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and manage culture within an organization
  • Demonstrated ability to coach leaders, develop colleagues and drive process improvements
  • Strong collaboration skills with colleagues at all levels
  • Ability to grasp technical information quickly
  • Critical thinking skills required
  • Must be able to manage high workload and multiple projects with limited resources
  • Able to explain HR policies, processes and practices in a clear and concise manner
  • Proven collaboration and team leadership skills

PREFERRED

  • Be a credible influencer and motivator
  • Previous experience supporting a manufacturing plant and strong business acumen and functional knowledge
  • Pursues knowledge of new developments in HR field and processes improvement methods
  • Exercises excellent project & process management
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry or other regulated industries is preferred
  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and IR management
