Department Overview
For TD Bank Group to grow profitably, it must selectively take and manage risks. TD recognizes that a strong risk culture and approach to risk management is fundamental to our success.
If you possess a strong understanding of Capital Markets and interested in financial instruments including: derivatives, fixed income, securities trading, mortgage securitization, investment banking and institutional equities you could be the right candidate for Capital Markets Risk Management.
CMRM is a valued business partner, managing strong and effective relationships with key business' across TD Securities (TDS) in accordance with the Bank's Risk Appetite. CMRM provides independent advice and quantitative support on market and credit risks, results and business strategies. Capital Market Risk Management is accountable for the processes for generating and monitoring an independent view of the Profit and Loss, Credit Risk, Market Risk, and Valuation activities of the global trading activities of the Firm.
Job Description
As a student, part of the MRMD, Co-op program you will have the opportunity to join one of our teams. In addition, you will have access to participate in different development workshops, seminars and lunch and learns. We will provide you the necessary tools, resources and guidance to achieve both business and personal goals.
Job Requirements
- Strong mathematical, statistical, business, finance and computer science background.
- Advanced MS Excel and MS Access for data analysis (Pivot, Filter, Formulas, Vlookup, VBA)
- Comfort with multiple technology platforms
- Database management/development
- Basic knowledge of Capital Markets (option pricing, stats, trading strategies, finance products)
- Strong Derivatives & Advanced Financial product knowledge
- Bloomberg/Reuters knowledge
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues for the benefit of others.
- Strong quantitative, analytic, and problem-solving skills
- Strong conceptual and strategic thinking skills, ability to see the big picture in a complex environment.
- Independent thinker who takes initiative to capitalize on opportunities, minimizes problems, and achieve efficiencies
- Understanding of security data, CSA data, client data, market data in addition to trade and valuation data
- Prior working experience participating in large change initiatives impacting multiple stakeholders and processes
- Prior experience producing reports for senior management/executives
Bachelors in an academic program of Business/Commerce, Risk, Math/Statistics, Finance/Economics, Computer Science or equivalent
