About The Opportunity

Comtech’s Command & Control Technologies Government Services Division is looking for a candidate who will be well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of multi-protocol routers, multi-layer switches, network security devices and network management systems related to DKET and other SATCOM systems or networks. In addition, the candidate will support any 1m to 9m antenna systems. Candidate will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

Primary Duties

This position be responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WAN and VoIP infrastructures. Provide high-level technical support for voice and data network systems, creates and maintains network documentation, maintains hardware and software standards, and works projects as needed in order to upgrade to new and/or improved communication equipment and procedures.

This Position Will Perform The Following Tasks

• Provide Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 network support for a complex enterprise WAN and LAN network
• Troubleshoot and identify sources of problems and resolve issues
• Monitor and resolve service requests in accordance with published Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Review and assist in the creation of desktop management policies and procedures for an enterprise.
• Assist in establishing and enforce best practice processes for network management, including configurations, monitoring, patch management and security
• Operate Satellite Modems, Redundancy Switch, associated cables, and interconnects; Up Converters, Redundancy Switch; Down Converters, High Power Amplifiers (HPAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Block (LNB); Waveguide (rigid, flex, and elliptical) joints and connections; Intermediate Frequency (IF) cable and connections; Antenna, Antenna motors, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPA), Antenna Control Unit (ACU), and associated cabling and interconnects; Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Units; Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS); Generator (if applicable)
• Maintain and troubleshoot using any Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) required over and above the Built-In-Test (BIT) capability of the supported equipment
• Manage and maintain telecommunication installation supplies
• Maintain daily on-hand inventories
• Operate Satellite Radios and maintain those systems
• Operate FDMA and TDMA modems
• Operate an iDirect modem and or Hub
• Have experience with Global Security Systems (GSS), Access Control entry (ACE), Wireless, Riverbeds, Infoblox.
• Have in-depth knowledge of complex LAN/WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways and firewalls.
• Have in-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
• Have strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs) and Traffic Engineering Duties involve among others, management of local and wide area network, projects, and installation of new devices, system and on-going maintenance of infrastructure.
• Handle additional duties as required

Education/Experience

All candidates will have the basic qualifications below with degree:

• Shall have five (5) years related work experience
• Two (2) years’ experience in a military environment

Active Secret (or higher) clearance required (or have had one on the last 24 months)

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

In lieu of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, candidate must meet either of the following:

• An associate degree plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience OR
• A major certification plus seven (7) years of recent specialized experience OR
• 11 years of recent specialized experience

Certification Requirements

• Shall have Cisco CCNP
• Shall have CompTia Security+ and
• Shall have CompTia Network+

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Position is in Qatar with additional travel possibilities up to 100% with possibility to deploy with Unit to remote locations. Typical uplifts apply when deployed where applicable (hazard/hardship/cola).
