Combining his key experience both as a law firm leader and former General Counsel, Chris serves as Dentons Canada Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Nextlaw In-House Solutions. In his roles, Chris is firmly focused on anticipating, understanding and exceeding our clients' expectations of value, service, innovation, collaboration and efficiency and delivering business solutions to business challenges in today's increasingly demanding, complex and rapidly evolving business and legal environment.

Chris plays a key role in fostering client relationships and representing Dentons and Nextlaw In-House Solutions with other strategic partners, aligning and implementing our "in and of the community" approach wherever clients do - or want to do - business across the globe.

He is committed to working with Dentons' leadership to ensure that Dentons continues to be a workplace of choice for our leading talent and a leader in the legal community with respect to diversity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility. In 2012, Chris was named a Canadian Diversity Champion, and Dentons was recognized with a Canadian National Pro Bono Law Firm Award and as one of the Best Employers for New Canadians. Under Chris's leadership, Dentons was recognized as one of Canada's Top Employers for Young People (2012, 2016), and as one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers (2011-2016).

Chris served as Dentons' Canada Region Chief Executive Officer from 2009 to July 2017 and led the Firm through the bold and transformative strategy to become a founding member of Dentons. Prior to assuming his role as the Firm's Canada CEO, Chris served as Managing Partner of Dentons' Toronto office for six years, following his return to the Firm from four years as general counsel and a senior officer of a leading Canadian and international developer, owner and manager of regional shopping centres. An accomplished and highly respected commercial real estate lawyer, Chris's practice has focused on the purchase and sale, development, financing and joint-venturing of commercial properties and portfolios, and commercial leasing in the retail, office and industrial markets.
