  • The Product Lifecycle Coordinator provides product leadership, ensuring continual growth and improved profitability for the product lines and any complementary products and services. This will be accomplished through establishing and maintaining effective partnerships with the Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams.


    The Product Lifecycle Coordinator provides product line support for marketing program strategy, operational readiness and on-going sales support. This position requires close interaction with Marketing and Sales management. Job focus will include converting technical positioning into key market messages and launching new products into market.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Market and Ecosystem

    •    Gather ecosystem intel related to existing and potential Volant products.
    • Analyze customer requirements.
    • Define industry trends.
    • Help identify best opportunities for lead generation.
    • Understand and communicate customers’ strategies, competitors’ strategies, and any trends in technology that could impact Volant’s market position.


    Product Line Training

    • Make recommendations for employee training needs across product lines.
    • Co-ordinate technical training programs to improve employee’s knowledge and understanding of product line.
    • Represent the company at industry technical forums, conferences and technology days. 


    Product Support

    • Monitor progress against targets.
    • Support regional Operations and Sales.

              

    Product Line Strategy

    • Aid in the development and implementation of strategic and tactical plans to address market opportunities and penetration of new geographic areas.
    • Identification and achievement of competitive advantage for all products and product line as a whole.


    Product Lifecycle Management

    • Provide product leadership and influence the direction of products over their lifecycle toward higher profitability and sustainability.
    • Identify decision makers for day to day and long-term activities.
    • Advise decision makers and provide decision bases.
    • Establish prioritization clarity for ongoing activities of product team.
    • Develop and communicate KPIs and strategies/objectives for product teams.
    • Forecast lifecycle of technology adoption and abandonment over time.

     

    Business Development (Product Driven)

    • Educate sales and business development managers on current and upcoming Volant products.
    • Obtain and disseminate information regarding competitor intelligence for the product line.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers to ensure needs satisfaction (current and future).
    • Align with Operations and Sales to allocate sufficient resources to effectively capture growth opportunities.

     

    Product Development and Commercialization of New Products

    • Work with the design group to ensure products are fit for purpose.
    • Build new product business case and ensure economic feasibility of new products.
    • Follow through on new product launch activities, including testing, field validation, implementation plan with Sales, Operations, Training, Marketing and other shared services.


    Communication and Reporting

    • Understanding of the customer perspective / customer voice.
    • Provide activity reports to the Product Line Manager.

     

    General

    • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to all Health and Safety and Quality Management initiatives.
    • Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.                          


    Knowledge and Skills

    5+ years of related Sales, Engineering or Manufacturing oil field experience is required along with an applicable Bachelor’s Degree. Engineering degree/Technical degree preferred.

    • Aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment and grasp new concepts quickly, including highly technical information.
    • Aptitude to build and manage meaningful, effective relationships and work well in cross-functional teams.
    • Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously, from ideation through completion, including outcomes measurement.
    • Sound analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
    • Extensive knowledge of Volant products.
    • Willingness to travel
