    Child and Parent Resource Institute (CPRI) provides trauma-informed and highly specialized services for children and youth of Ontario who experience complex and long-standing combinations of mental health difficulties and/or developmental challenges where these difficulties significantly impact functioning in multiple areas such as home, school and community and appropriate community interventions have not produced the desired response. CPRI provides services that are based on a partnership model with community service providers. Our services include Assessment, Consultation, Treatment, Research and Education in both outpatient and inpatient services.

    CPRI is looking for a Residence Manager to work with an interdisciplinary team to shape and implement overall assessment and treatment services. As a Residence Manager you will be responsible for managing staff as well as the day to day operations of a 24/7 facility.

  • What can I expect to do in this role?

    Your impact:

  • You will support the delivery of services to high risk children and youth and ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements
  • You will assess and manage emergency situations, such as evacuations, behavioural disturbances and implement security practices to ensure safety and protection of clients and staff
  • You will provide leadership for program design and changes within clinical areas and collaborate with stakeholders to monitor program effectiveness
  • You will coordinate the research/analysis and develop recommendations for improvements to residential services (e.g., risk management, patient safety)
  • You will work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders to facilitate specialized residential treatment services and coordinate focus groups.
  • You will contribute to the development of planning of organizational goals and contingency plans, and recommend changes to improve service delivery.

  • How do I qualify?

    Leadership and Management Skills

  • You have knowledge of administrative and financial policies, collective agreements, labour relations and human resources management practices, legislation, policies and directives to manage the unit and guide staff.
  • You have leadership skills to guide and coach staff, set standards, evaluate performance, and hold staff accountable.
  • You have experience creating a strong adaptive culture where services are delivered in an integrated manner and in compliance with legislative and legal obligations.

  • Program and Technical Knowledge

  • You have knowledge of practices related to operations of a residential facility and progressive clinical experience
  • You can assess program procedures to ensure consistency with ministry and legislative standards
  • You have knowledge of project management principles and methodologies
  • You can manage the delivery of programs for high risk children/youth with complex mental health, psychiatric, and intellectual disabilities
  • You have experience dealing with a variety of emergency situations, which include volatile, violent and aggressive behavioural disturbances

  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills

  • You have excellent communication skills and tact to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders (i.e. police, emergency services, hospitals, lawyers, investigators, families/guardians of children/youth and general public).
  • You can establish effective working relationships with members of a multi-disciplinary team, and community partners.

  • Planning and Analytical Skills

  • You have analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of treatment procedures, quality of service and coordinate children's needs for care and treatment.
  • You can investigate and resolve complaints and facilitate analysis of risk management issues.
  • You have planning and coordinating skills to administer the program operations, plan resources and provide input for results based and strategic planning processes.
