The gig.
Q4 is a team of creators, builders, and disrupters who specialize in solutions for investor relations. We develop products that are constantly evolving, solving problems, and pushing the boundaries of what technology can do for capital markets. Our products are built from scratch and leverage the strengths of every developer and team member at Q4.
Our busy Infrastructure team is expanding. We are seeking individuals who can own their piece of our complex environment and showcase their expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with multidisciplinary cross functional departments (IT, Security and Product Architecture teams, etc) to implement and maintain infrastructure solutions and specifications according to internal and client requirements
- Maintain active directory, domains and patching of Q4 systems
- Problem Analysis (identifying abnormalities, etc.) and resolution, monitoring and documenting RCA.
- Proficient in ITIL change management methodology.
- Manage, maintain and update Cloud hosted environment in AWS cloud
- Coordinate activities of 3rd party hosting and service providers
- Work to automate management tasks, streamline processes, and improve reliability, uptime, efficiency, consistency and security throughout the infrastructure
- Conduct and report on scheduled and regular reviews of Q4 Capacity, Security Events, Access/Permissions and patching.
- Provide Level 2 and 3 support for infrastructure operations team
- Execute platform setups, configs and troubleshoot for new Q4 Clients.
- Take part in Disaster Recovery implementation, testing, and execution
- Work closely with the Infrastructure team as part of 24x7 on-call support team and collaboratively plan and execute off-hour provisioning, maintenance and operations activities for the infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of AWS cloud environment
- 5-7 years technical experience in administration support and infrastructure implementation and support along with mid-Level experience (5+ years) in all aspects of system administration of Microsoft Windows Server and/or Linux systems to deploy and maintain global infrastructure services (RHEL/CentOS and Windows Server 2008R2/2012)
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Domains and Group Policy and Directory Services/LDAP
- Experience with patching servers and desktops
- General knowledge of Storage technologies (i.e. SAN, NFS, iSCSI)
- General knowledge of Networking technologies (i.e. TCP, Load Balancing, Routing, Switching, Firewalls, WPA with RADIUS)
- General knowledge of designing, troubleshooting, monitoring and tuning web application environments
- General knowledge of relational databases (i.e. Microsoft SQL Server)
- General knowledge of application and OS performance tuning in Windows and Linux environments
- Experience supporting applications in shared or virtual environments both on premise and cloud hosted.
- Flexibility in scheduling with a willingness to work extra non-standard hours as required
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team structure, but also independently
- Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrable track record dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Clustering technologies and configurations
- Ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting or programming language such as Perl, PowerShell, Ruby, shell (ksh, bash)
- Knowledge of ELK or similar log analysis software
- Experience with Sensitive Data Environments and security (PCI, HIPAA, etc.)
