Community Integrated Care is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Health & Social Care Specialists for positions based in North Edinburgh. The new service involves supporting a young man who has a learning disability and requires clinical care. The successful candidates must have experience in this field. You will be supporting the young man to improve his quality of life by developing his domestic skills, engaging in healthy living, providing emotional support, establishing social contacts, maintaining his personal safety, taking his medication, providing personal care and accompanying him to school and leisure/social activities. Training will be provided for this role. You will take responsibility for assessing the effectiveness of the care and support provided and contribute to the successful implementation of a highly individualised service. Having an upbeat positive manner is essential as well as having a genuine passion for supporting people to become a part of their local and wider community. You will bring creative ideas to encourage the young man to live as independently as possible. It would be desirable that you have a good range of experience supporting people. Our ideal Support Practitioner will be:.Self-motivated with energy and drive. Reliable, friendly and caring to support the people we support to achieve their everyday goals (including personal care). Able to support in-house activities and hobbies. Confident and able to inspire the person we support to achieve more. Able to help manage some behaviours that may challenge the norm – we will provide training and guidance to enable you to do this. Comfortable using basic IT systems that are required within the role - training can be offered to support in this area. You will also hold SVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care (Scotland) or Level 4 Diploma in Care (England).
