The Rapiscan Learning Academy is looking for a Security Trainer and Assessor to deliver, develop and maintain the security training syllabuses. The role holder will be responsible for training to the highest standards across different regulated and quality assured frameworks and will ensure all courseware and supporting documentation are correct, relevant and current for each course.
In addition, the role will include Assessor duties to support the internal quality assurance processes. This role will support training globally and will aid the rest of the team in ensuring standardisation and quality across the entire security training portfolio.

Responsibilities
The Security Trainer and Assessor is required to:
- Deliver training that engages, motivates and provides key information to learners against the learning outcomes, aims and requirements of the relevant syllabus
- Welcome all learners to the Learning Academy in a professional and courteous manner, and always uphold standards for a conducive learning environment
- Provide formative assessment activities and use these to provide feedback to learners on their progress and how to improve their learning
- Provide support for learners seeking recognition of prior learning
- Monitor the learner’s progress and decide whether a learner has demonstrated competence and capability, identifying and providing any support needs and updating learner records with details of progress
- Produce, action, complete and submit all required documentation including learner inductions, training records, formative and summative assessments, assessment tracking and feedback within the required deadlines and as required by the Internal Quality Assurer
- Utilize, develop and maintain resources such as lesson plans, training aids and security training equipment
- Participate in and contribute to team meetings relating to subjects such as quality processes, standardisation, programme review and evaluations
- Make changes to assessment tasks and decisions, as required by the Internal Quality Assurer
- Judge the learner’s assignment against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria, providing support and guidance concerning sufficiency of evidence and summative written feedback
- Always comply with company policies and procedures and regulatory documentation and processes
- Contribute to procedures related to complaints, appeals, malpractice, and programme review and evaluation
- Identify any CPD needs and ensure they stay up to date with developments in the Learning and Development, Security and their individual fields of expertise
- Ensure the information supplied for certifications and qualifications required to deliver and assess training are accurate and up to date at all times
Qualifications
- Must have experience as a trainer / instructor
- Must have the ability to work independently, with other trainers or team members, and part of a matrix management system
- Able to produce and maintain a wide range of training materials and supporting documentation using systems such as MS Office
- Have strong administrative and self-auditing skills
- Willingness to attend CPD sessions, briefings, workshops and courses
- Experience with continuous assessment and quality assurance processes
- Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation
- Knowledge of security screening methods and their implementation across industry
- The role holder must have their identity verified and be able to prove they have the right to live and work in the UK
- Must hold a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) qualification
- The role holder must be able to successfully obtain a Background Check (CRC) and Counter Terrorism Check (CTC)
- Award in Education and Training (AET Level 3 preferred) or equivalent
- Certified Instructor Number (CIN)
- Ability to deliver DfT Aviation Security syllabuses defined under the UK NASP
- IATA Dangerous Goods qualification
- Experience with LMS platforms
- Experience within a security screening environment, e.g. airport security, cargo, customs
