We are seeking a Cash Receipts and Collections Clerk responsible for timely processing of all in-coming payments and any banking requirements. The incumbent will also support the Accounts Receivable function by sending monthly reminder statements to clients to ensure that payments are received in time.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In-coming Payments

  • Investigate, identify and post all incoming payments through cheque, credit card, wire transfer, and E-transfer and provide client with receipts as required
  • Resolve any discrepancies in regard to misapplied payments or client over and short payments
  • Liaising with clients to process credit card payments and e-transfers

Collections

  • Assist with the sending of periodic reporting to clients
  • Sending monthly reminders to clients
  • Assisting the Collections Officer with other collection duties

Miscellaneous

  • Act as back-up for billing during peak periods
  • Any other duties or projects that may be assigned from time to time.

Knowledge/Skills/Education/Experience

  • University degree or College diploma preferably in accounting related field is required
  • Prior experience in a professional services setting is strongly preferred
  • Prior experience with PCLaw is an asset
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills is required
  • Proficiency in MS Office and internal accounting system
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven competence in investigating, addressing and resolving client issues in a timely manner
  • Strong team player with customer service mentality for both internal and external clients
