Job Description Summary

Our Occupier Management team are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their team in Birmingham. This is a great opportunity for a financially qualified Commercial Manager who is either interested in exploring other businesses within Real Estate, or looking for a change in industry entirely.

Job Description

The purpose of your role is to specifically drive commercial discipline across the OM business, leading commercial input to client contract and variation negotiations. You will also be providing support for the operational teams particularly in budgeting and forecasting. You will do this by acting as an intelligent interface between OM operations and corporate finance functions.

Responsibilities

This role has varied responsibilities that can change on a day-to-day basis, but a general idea of the role would consist of
  • Providing assistance, support and guidance on all commercial issues
  • Developing and expanding the commercial knowledge of the OM team – you will be the go-to.
  • You will own the development and maintenance of standard contracting scope and terms, alongside the inhouse legal team.
  • Identify improvements to commercial procedures
  • Managing the monthly commercial audit process, whilst also managing the commercial negotiations in support of contract variations.
  • Implement structures to simplify revenue budgeting and forecasting process
  • Liaise with the corporate finance team to enable to effective tracking of allocated cost lines

They Would Also Like To See The Following In The Potential Candidate

The team is ideally looking for someone who have demonstrated the ability to negotiate, construct and commercially manager professional service contracts either in their current role or previous roles.
  • Educated to degree level
  • Preferably an ACMA or similar qualification
  • Senior stakeholder management with a proven track record of the whole life cycle commercial contract & relationship management.
  • Understanding of the professional services market, does not have to be in real estate.
  • Must be able to provide examples of creative, commercial flair which have led to upselling opportunities.
  • Full driving licence and passport essential as the role will involve travel.
  • You will need to be proactive, able to see the big picture, with excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to build long term and strong relationships, with the experience of handling multiple stakeholders at one time.
  • Excellent problem solver, clear & concise communicator, and a skilled influencer & negotiator.
