Jacobs is providing support to the development of nuclear power in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, working collaboratively with the King Abdullah Centre for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K A CARE). This work is to assist and provide expertise to move the Saudi Nuclear Atomic Energy Project (SNAEP) forward through the deployment of suitably qualified and experienced staff.

Role Outline/Responsibilities:

Provision of environmental assessment expertise associated with major infrastructure project for the LNPP within international and national environments:
• Fulfil any specific role assigned within KACARE.
• Undertake work in developing the environmental site assessments and formulate strategies and specify site study requirements.
• Oversee the development of the Environmental Impact Assessment and coordinate and work with regulatory bodies.
• Support license and permitting applications
• Engage and manage consultants undertaking the work overseeing and assessing study result and outputs from the studies.
• Input and develop design base information for license applications and the EPC/ PV.
• Ensuring safe operations across the work site.
• Oversee the development of the site layout, taking account of geotechnical, seismic and environmental conditions.
• Advise on waste water management and air pollution control, waste disposal, radiation protection, industrial hygiene, environmental sustainability, and public health issues, hazardous-waste management.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Essential: relevant Degree
  • Professional Technical / Commercial / Project qualification (Chartered status as appropriate))
  • Minimum 10 years nuclear experience
  • Experience of operating in a regulated industry
  • Used to operating in a multi discipline environment with light supervision


Desirable:

  • Previous overseas experience in a nuclear environment
