Financial Analyst - Canada

We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst who will be responsible for assisting the Controller with the company's financial plans and policies, its accounting practices, the maintenance of its fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports including monthly bank reconciliations.

What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Controller:

  • Maintain and update the Company’s long-term financial forecast
  • Analyze new product offerings to assess profitability prior to releasing in production
  • Create financial models to optimize product offerings in alignment the Company’s strategy
  • Assess loan portfolio performance across segments to identify under-performing assets
  • Monitor and report on the Company’s short-term liquidity position
  • Prepare analysis of new financing structures for raising debt and equity capital
  • Prepare all monthly investor reporting, including debt covenant calculations
  • Maintain and update bond holder schedules for monthly interest payments and reporting
  • Maintain and update shareholder schedules for quarterly dividend payments and reporting
  • Lead preparation of the quarterly senior management and board reporting packages
  • Work with stakeholders in the Technology, Risk, and Operations departments to deliver on strategic initiatives
  • Other related duties as required or assigned

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; or a combined education and experience considered
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial or business analysis, with a proven ability to analyze business issues, present data in a simple and compelling way, and present to higher level management
  • Experience in a financial institution would be an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of business concepts and tools (NPV, ROI, Yield, Break-even, cost-benchmarking, pricing, sensitivity analysis, etc.)
  • Advanced understanding of common financial reports and financial metrics
  • Experience building financial models
  • Comprehensive computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and advanced Excel
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, flexible team player with demonstrated ability to thrive in a business-critical deadline driven environment
  • Self motivated, organized, and goal oriented with a keen attention to detail
  • Solid communication skills; ability to develop a method for presenting information in a simple yet effective way.
