You will join our Survey department

As our new Geomatics Cartographer you will be accountable to the IGEO/GEOM Surveyors regarding work prioritization, also accountable to the IGEO/GEOM Senior Cartographer for the accuracy, quality, completeness, timeliness of all allocated work (reports, charts, registers) in accordance with company specifications, procedures, processes, systems and confidentiality agreements.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be

• Provision of cartographic support Corporate Planning, Major Projects and Operations (Drilling, Logistics, Field Operations and E&C) in alignment with core values under the guidance of the Senior Cartographer.
• Assists with the management and delivery of quality reporting and cartographic deliverables in support of base business and field development activities.
• Supports the IGEO/GEOM GIS Specialist with regard to the inclusion of historical and contemporary topographic/ hydrographic information in the system.
• Provides vacation cover for the Senior Cartographer.

• Must be MSc or BSc in Architecture Civils’, Cartography or Geomatics with a land / hydrographic component.
• Proficiency in a variety of applications including Geographic Calculator, AutoCAD Map 3D (expert), Bentley Micro-station (expert), ArcGIS Desktop (desirable), Fledermaus, Surfer and Notepad++.
• Knowledge of 3D Laser scanning processing and clash analysis would be an advantage.
• Ensures and promotes the application of HSE objectives, Safety Engineering rules / specifications and contractor compliance. Embrace anomalies reporting and promote attendance at HSE events.
• Accountable for the planning, execution, monitoring and close out of all delegated cartographic projects.
• Delivers the optimum solution for the business.
• Assists with the delivery of quality deliverables in accordance with confidentiality rules and procedures using various Visualization deliverables (CAD, GIS, Micro-station, Fledermaus) as appropriate.
• Assists with the development and maintenance of all spatial registers including but not limited to rig moves, platform positions and slots, standalone wells, geotechnical boreholes, pipeline crossings, platform subsidence, mooring piles, historical surveys and rig moves, spud-can penetration, tidal information, etc.
• Assists with the annual publication of the Controlled Field Charts.
• Collates and extracts relevant spatial data as part of the data QA/QC Process.
• Maintain an awareness of new technologies and working methods in the field of Geomatics
• Reports departmental endeavours to the Senior Cartographer.
