Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Global Regulatory Leader, located in Indianapolis, IN; however, a virtual location would be considered. Candidate should lead the development and execution of a global regulatory strategy for Telone, which defines the major regulatory, regulatory sciences, and external advocacy objectives to sustain regulatory freedom-to-operate globally. Represents to industry, government and other external stakeholders the Company EH&S standards, programs, work processes and tools, as necessary to create a favorable framework for achieving the Company EH&S objectives. Provides leadership to professional individual contributors. Develops plans of execution to ensure alignment with operational long-term strategy. As a leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

Responsibilities / Duties
  • Establish business support and approval for an annual regulatory and regulatory sciences resource plan to accomplish objectives set forth in the global regulatory strategy. Identify the major external advocacy needs and build business support for plans and resources to address them.
  • Build the regulatory and regulatory science capabilities – then lead the regulatory team across all science disciplines (mammalian toxicology, environmental exposure assessment, human health risk assessment, ecotoxicology, residue chemistry, product chemistry) through a combination of direct contractual purchased services and engagement of necessary Corteva regulatory science capabilities.
  • Establish and implement Regulatory Services Agreement to specify Corteva regulatory support required. Identify and clearly articulate the deliverables needed: i. Maintain full suite of current product-aligned registrations, ii. Meet requirements for review/renewal of registrations, issues management, iii. Ensure sustainable sourcing approach (using Corteva and other third party resources), iv. Ensure Product Stewardship needs are met.
  • Provide project oversight for the transfer of current DAS registrations globally to Dow (Exponent project): i. Global registrations confirmation and documentation, ii. Supporting data confirmation, documentation and ownership and physical transfer, iii. Global registration transfer procedures, iv. Initiation and completion of registration transfer activities.
  • Establish and maintain linkage to the network of Regulatory Affairs focal points in countries to ensure plans are set to sustain regulatory freedom-to-operate.
  • U.S. Regulatory Team Leader to establish and execute all regulatory and regulatory science efforts required to maintain all current U.S. registrations and use patterns: i. U.S. EPA Registration Review, ii. California management plan, iii. Liaison to Chloropicrin Manufacturers’ Task Force (CMTF)
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a science-based discipline such as engineering, toxicology, biology, or chemistry.
  • Knowledge and experience – proven track record of regulatory success (10+ years of experience helpful, desirably in the area of challenging crop-protection chemistry).

  • Credibility with external stakeholders (regulatory authorities, crop protection industry associations, university research and extension professionals focused on agriculture)
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Location and Travel
Preferred Location is Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. However, candidate can be virtual and travel to Indianapolis about 6 times a year. Additional travel to a few US locations may be about 4 trips per year.
