Gecko Hospitality is looking for a Hotel Sales Manager for a Resort in Orlando, Florida.


The Hotel Sales Manager will develop and implement successful marketing and sales solicitation activities to secure new business from Business Travel, group and other specified market segments. Maintain existing business clientele relationships, ensuring maximum profitability for the hotel and quality service for our guests.


Hotel Sales Manager ​Essential Job Functions:


  • Assist the Director of Sales and/or General Manager in the establishment of annual sales goals, and meet or exceed the annual sales goals, including sales activity production guidelines.
  • Adhere to the hotel’s sales guideline and book profitable business based on need times, including but not limited to prospecting, telemarketing, outside sales calls, site inspections, and presentations.
  • Comply with company sales reporting standards, company sales office, and system standards.
  • Conduct superior negotiating skills in a professional, business-like manner.
  • Develop and execute sales action plans to close on targeted accounts and or businesses within a market segment.
  • Monitor group arrival/departure patterns, rate, room blocks, public space allocation, and special negotiations.
  • Identify and qualify the market for major room night demand generators, developing effective strategies with the General Manager and/or Director of Sales consistent with the hotel’s sales and marketing plan.
  • Suggest and develop strategies and tactics for respective markets for the development of the annual business plan.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the timely execution of specific assignments.
  • Focus on soliciting business in the deployed group segments.
  • Develop professional selling skills through participation in prescribed training programs as directed.
  • Make a monthly presentation at sales meetings on accounts closed, the hotel’s competitive performance and any meaningful supply or demand changes in the market. Note and follow-up on outstanding receivables for groups.
  • Attend mandatory meetings as directed.
  • Various duties and projects as directed by hotel management.


Essential Qualifications:


  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers, and management to their understanding.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Previous hotel sales experience.
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors.
  • Basic skill in the development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Ability to deal with internal and external customers and staff, collect accurate information and to resolve conflicts.
