  • Position Purpose:

    The Operations Engineer I is responsible for implementing new technologies and maintaining existing desktop and server infrastructure. This position will interact with the IT department and all levels of the organization to assist in making informed decisions to meet business objectives. An ideal candidate will have had at least 4 years of experience in a support role with an emphasis on systems administration.


    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Provide infrastructure support and troubleshooting on a variety of server operating systems (Windows 2012 R2+, Linux)
    • Provide OS level networking support and troubleshooting (Windows 7/8/10, RHEL/CentOS)
    • Provide and maintain systems administration support for various Windows, Mac OS and iOS applications and services.
    • Review, build and maintain IT dashboards and alerting systems to ensure all critical services remain healthy and operational
    • Perform maintenance and inventory of all hardware and software to provide a stable and reliable environment including implementation of IT security policies and procedure.
    • Provide guidance and support for the Help Desk team on escalated issues
    • Participate and lead advanced internal cross training for other staff on various technical applications and systems
    • Work efficiently both independently and as part of a scalable team
    • Consistently communicate effectively, both written and oral with co-workers and various business vendors in a courteous and professional manner
    • Author consistent, quality, and accurate technical documentation as required.
    • Other duties and projects assigned by management within the IT department.
    • Participate in an 24x7 on-call rotation schedule

    Qualifications

    • Hypervisor experience: Nutanix AHV, VMware 6.x
    • Proficiency in MS Office 365 Application Suite
    • Proficiency with modern desktop operating systems including both Windows and Mac OS
    • Familiarity with ITIL work flow and processes
    • Experience with security best practices such as Identity Management and MFA
    • Intermediate experience managing Windows Server environments
    • Experience with Azure and Amazon Web Services Cloud Platforms
    • Virtual desktop experience (Microsoft RDS, Citrix)
    • DNS and DHCP Management
    • Group policy management and design preferred
    • Genesys VoIP Experience preferred
    • Basic scripting or experience with process automation preferred
    • Application Systems Administration preferred
    • Experience managing Linux/Unix environments and FreeBSD / FreeNAS preferred
    • Experience with Regulated environments such as PCI preferred
    • his position must be able to travel a minimum of 60 days a year.


    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


    • Candidate should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the IT field
    • Bachelor’s Degree with IT competencies or equivalent experience is required
    • Minimum of 2 year’ of experience supporting windows desktop & server applications
    • Candidates with IT Consulting experience are strongly preferred
