Manager, IT Vendor Management

Reporting to the Director, IT Operations, you will manage the overall IT Vendor Management Office (VMO) function and team. You will be responsible for maintaining strong working relationships with corporate Procurement and Legal departments, as well as communicating the VMO value proposition to various partners. You will oversee the management of vendor relationships and the integration of key partners, internally and externally, to ensure strong and strategic partnerships, cost savings and enhanced services for the complex needs of the LCBO organization.

What’s the role about?

 

    • Identify, develop and promote strategic IT infrastructure, applications or service delivery opportunities through interaction with IT Senior Leadership and business functions, and utilize the vendor contracts to implement solutions
    • Establish policies that reduce risk by determining selection processes and criteria (including terms, conditions and negotiation of contracts) for all IT purchasing and supplier relationships
    • Provide leadership for Enterprise procurement guidelines and standards, while enabling the implementation of innovative practices
    • Ensure high levels of control are in place, and metrics are defined for managing vendors, including but not limited to: compliance, operational, performance and service level audits
    • Establish strategic initiatives to drive vendor contract consolidation, cost reduction initiatives and opportunities to bring value to IT through vendor relationships
    • Lead all aspects of IT contracts and ensure financial and contractual rigour to contract negotiation and creation through experience and partnering with LCBO Finance and Legal teams
    • Building consolidated prioritization processes and tracking for all procurement and vendor management workloads
    • Oversee the interaction with various IT functions to ensure the vendor service delivery organizations are effectively meeting the expectations of the business units
    • Establish supplier improvement targets in cost, quality, delivery and inventory reduction. Lead all supplier negotiations, including contract terms, pricing, price re-determinations and performance management
    • Develop and manage a VMO continuous improvement program based on defined operating metrics and development of key, long-term supply contracts 


What will you bring to the team?

 

    • Post-secondary education in Contract Administration, Business Administration, Commerce or Financial Management, or an equivalent program
    • 5 – 8 years of experience in vendor management and project management in an IT Procurement function
    • Demonstrated leadership skills to build and manage multi-disciplinary teams supported by strong knowledge of team management standards and methodologies
    • Adept in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and competitive price analysis
    • Deep interpersonal and communication skills to foster partnerships, consensus and effective relationships with internal staff, clients and external vendor/suppliers
    • Well-developed negotiation and conflict management skills, with the ability to ensure vendors adhere to contract terms, operations service support and service delivery
    • Experience establishing and maintaining reporting performance standards and processes including supplier performance scorecards
    • Knowledge of current technologies and services such as Software-as-a-Service (SAAS), Cloud and Outsourcing
    • Excellent decision-making and problem solving skills, and the foresight to anticipate opportunities/problems and present effective solutions
