Position Summary: Lead, oversee and be accountable for the terminal maintenance function, labor and programs of cranes, heavy equipment, electrical and material handling systems. Motivate and drive reliability centered maintenance teams through ever changing operation.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Strong ability to lead, motivate and drive change in a hands-on management position.
  • Have a strong understanding of maintenance programs and functions to include RCM, CMMS, PM, CM and Pd.M.
  • Effectively communicate and carry out programs, changes and systems from maintenance director.
  • Approval of requisitions for goods or services up to $2,500.00.
  • Drive the systems and data approach as it pertains to maintenance thinking.
  • Manage day to day maintenance shop and field operations in a high pace environment.
  • Manage overtime and cost around operational priorities.
  • Must be able to communicate technical data with venders, staff and senior leadership.
  • Be the point of contact for all rentals, contractors, facilities and maintenance related issues.
  • Maintain skills and training matrix for maintenance staff and help determine skills gap.
  • Be accountable for maintenance budget, planning, reports and KPI’s.
  • Accurately document maintenance information generated in support of operations to include M&R logs, Maintenance inspections and safety related reports.
  • Have a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Must be available 24/7/365 should it be needed.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by General manager and Director of maintenance and reliability.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required.
  • Bachelors or Associate degree in engineering, shop management, etc. Preferred but not mandatory.
  • Must have minimum 3 years in maintenance supervision or management.
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years technical trade experience such as mechanic, electrician, welder, millwright.
  • Must be quality driven and always thinking ahead.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and have conflict management.
  • Advanced knowledge of tooling, measuring and trade thinking.
  • Very Strong attention to detail.
  • Heavy equipment, forklifts, cranes, conveyors, all things maintenance.
  • Microsoft products, NetSuite, Kronos.
  • Able to work all shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to attain and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, and decimals).
  • Ability to accept supervision/direction and work effectively and cooperatively with other people.
  • Ability to communicate over a company provided mobile radio.
  • Ability to operate and always maintain equipment in a safe manner.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain necessary records.
  • Successful completion of background check.
  • Ability to maintain regular, dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must meet “fit for duty” requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test)
  • The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at protected heights up to 130 feet
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Perform work in dusty environment and all types of temperature/weather conditions
