Managing Director, Aviation Services

Company Name: Charterhouse Middle East
Location: UAE

AED 60,000 to 65,000 Plus Benefits

Charterhouse are currently working with one of our international clients, whom are looking to hire a Managing Director (MD), for their Aviation Services business start-up and operational offering. This client currently has a strong footprint across areas of facilities management, education services, healthcare solutions and supply chain. In line with global strategy, their aviation services business and solution is now being introduced to the GCC market, to cater for the growth within the global airport-hubs across the region.

This role is designed to provide the planning, introduction and execution of a new regional business in to the aviation market space. The initial role, shall be heavily geared towards business development and origination, to ensure that the offering can be pitched to all operators and regulators, across the industry, with view to securing contracts and service-level agreements. In conjunction with this business development and start-up phase, the role shall take ownership off all areas within the business, linking to finance, marketing, operations and HR. At a group level, a shared service model exists to provide support functions. However, as the business scales up, the team will need to grow accordingly to allow for roll-out and delivery of service contracts.

The client will look to pinpoint a seasoned and well-rounded Director level candidate whom can demonstrate, not just a regional knowledge of the market, but also a background and network within the aviation sector. This knowledge and understanding particularly links to airport operations and regulatory bodies whom are “client side” and shall facilitate the introduction to potential and viable target customers. With a direct reporting line to the Regional CEO, this role will be responsible for managing relationships and influencing strategy, at a C-suite level, whilst also being able to demonstrate a strong operational background; whereby a tangible track record can be presented to ensure adequate exposure to both client development, project management and execution.

The successful candidate should also be expected to possess and deliver strong and in-depth knowledge across all areas of facilities management and maintenance services, along with specific airport-related service lines. This shall also ensure that the business can be presented in alignment with group standard and other global contracts in place across their aviation client base. In addition, the client will look for candidates with a sound knowledge of international markets and best practices; this is a critical aspect of their “value-add” proposition and market strategy and forms a vital component of their search and selection criterion.
