  • Job summary:

    • Support the development and execution of the organization’s brand strategy
    • Support the development and execution of the organization’s communications strategy


    Detailed Responsibilities:


    Branding:

    • Support the development of the branding strategy, by:
    • Identifying target segments for branding (e.g. customers, investors, partners, etc.)
      • Analysing current brand perceptions, e.g. through interviews and focus groups
      • Researching the brand positioning of major competitors and peers
      • Developing the imperatives / objectives for future positioning / branding
      • Formulate the branding strategy
    • Support the development of and maintain a branding guidelines document, to ensure consistent implementation of brand identity across the organization
    • Monitor the implementation of the branding strategy, and measure its effectiveness and impact based on defined criteria and measurement methods
    • In case of using external support for the above (e.g. from a branding agency), coordinate the definition of requirements, the technical evaluation of the bidders, and the management of the selected provider


    Communications:

    • Support the definition of communication objectives for target audience by:
      • Segmenting the target audience based on the defined branding strategy
      • Reviewing and incorporating communication requirements from senior management
      • Identifying communication needs and objectives for external stakeholders
      • Understanding communication needs and objectives for employees
    • Support the development of the communication strategy including the:
      • Elements of the communication mix (e.g. advertising, public relations, direct marketing)
      • Budget for corporate communication, based on the selected communication elements and unplanned needs
    • Coordinate the execution of the communication strategy by:
      • Selecting external media agencies to act as partners for elements of the communication strategy
      • Finalizing the communication strategy with the selected media agency
      • Agreeing on communication execution tracking framework with media agency and HR
      • Tracking the communication execution with the help of the external media agency/HR
    • Monitor the implementation of the communication strategy, and measure its effectiveness and impact based on defined criteria and measurement methods Develop consolidated recruitment plan for the organization
    • Coordinate the development on internal communications within the organization

    Event planning and execution:

    • Organize different corporate events, including conferences, workshops, etc.
    • Ensure the delivery of objectives and requirements for events
    • Contract the services of vendors (e.g. event management company, creative agencies, etc.) necessary for delivering the event
    • Secure and coordinate venue locations and logistics
    • Source and gather targeted invitation lists
    • Follow-up on events to determine their impact, success and to determine areas of future improvement

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills:


    Education and certifications:

    • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any related subject
    • Master’s degree in business, marketing or communications is an advantage
    • Professional qualification / certification from a relevant professional body is an advantage

    Experience:

    • 3-5 years of relevant marketing and communications experience
    • Prior experience in the Middle East is a strong advantage
    • Knowledge of the water, wastewater and utilities industry is an advantage
    • Experience in water desalination is an advantage
    • Experience in a R&D organization is an advantage

     Skills:

    • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, presentation)
    • Strong project management skills (including change management)
    • General computer literacy (Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) mandatory
    • Strong knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
    • Experience in managing external vendors (e.g. event management companies, advertising companies, graphic designers, etc.) or prior work experience in such companies is mandatory
    • Fluent English language is mandatory
    • Fluent Arabic language is mandatory
