As our Principal, you will work amongst a team of seasoned transport professionals and will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of our projects from inception to completion. Your task will be to manage our teams, develop client relationships and support the delivery of a wide range of regional and national projects. You would have a broad understanding of all elements of the transport planning profession with a particular focus on development management. Key Responsibilities
- Developing and influencing transport strategies
- Feasibility and design of transport solutions
- Preparation of transport assessments, modelling and travel plans
- Supporting the preparation of business cases to bid for funding of transport infrastructure schemes
- Day-to-day supervision, mentoring and training project team members.
- Attend meetings with; clients, design teams, local authorities and the general public, as required
- Support technical staff in respect of project delivery including cycle design, active travel projects
- Assist with technical bid submissions and / or fee proposals
- Manage work in accordance within the Practice Management Systems including Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental systems
- Degree qualification in civil engineering, transportation, geography, economics or similar
- Experience and understanding of the planning system
- Transport Assessment and Travel Planning experience Junction modelling / analysis and experience of relevant software packages
- Good communication skills, writing skills and levels of numeracy
- Experience training and developing junior staff
- Budget and quality management at project level
- An interest in keeping up to date with developments in transport and planning policy and latest thinking
