Role Description

Quality Management

The Senior Manager For Scoring Will
  • Work closely with product directors for high stakes testing and proficiency testing to ensure a coherent and consistent approach to score reporting
  • Manage all test development activity in relation to test preparation materials and readiness tests to ensure they align to the scoring of test products
  • Work closely with courseware teams to ensure that test material and scoring align with courseware products and strategy
  • Co-ordinate resources to ensure that the highest standards of scoring is maintained across the assessment portfolio
  • Contribute to test development and revision projects to ensure approaches to scoring are consistent and meet customers’ needs
  • Work with technology partners to ensure any new developments are scalable and fit for purpose
  • Ensure test development resource, both internal and external, is used appropriately to meet the key deliverables of assessment

Customer Service

The Senior Manager For Scoring Will
  • Work closely with customer services function to ensure scoring information is accurate and available to a range of stakeholders
  • Ensure a high standard of customer service by ensuring all external documentation about the test programmes is up-to-date and correct
  • Support investigations and questions relating to scoring

Internal Relationships

The Senior Manager For Scoring Will
  • Report to the Test Develop Director, Assessment
  • Co-ordinates all scoring input into the High Stakes and Proficiency portfolios
  • Work with scoring partners to ensure timely and cost-effective scoring of live and pre-test items
  • Lead for Test Development on all scoring development in relation to products developed for the test portal including any courseware development

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience
  • A Masters degree in Linguistics, TESOL or Educational Measurement
  • Experience of teaching and assessment
  • Technically proficient in statistical software
  • An analytical approach
  • Used to dealing with large sets of data
  • Quality orientated

  • A team player who is able to build relationships across diverse teams
