NOC Engineers - Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure

Due to rapid growth and expansion, we have several new full-time, NOC Engineer jobs near Herndon, VA available through Modis. In this role, you’ll support the power distribution and troubleshooting of highly complex systems for a multi-billion dollar national electric vehicle charging station infrastructure network while managing relevant vendors/suppliers.  This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with an ever-growing industry for many years to come that will change how we utilize energy resources for the future of transportation.

Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing your expertise to troubleshoot, analyze and report on field failures and root cause findings by manufacturers.
  • Hardware supplier quality analysis including supplier assessments, site audits including manufacturing facilities, supplier corrective actions, and supplier quality score carding.
  • Developing and implementing concepts and methods that reduce cost without compromising existing quality standards and processes.
  • Continuously measure and reporting the quality metrics for hardware install base including field failure rates, fielded MTBF, performance data, and Pareto analysis.
  • Assist with the planning and introduction of quality requirements, standards, and guidelines to improve product reliability and customer experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required with preferred majors of Electronic, Systems or Electrical Engineer, though flexible for those with majors in Mechanical, System, Telecommunication Engineering, as well as Computer Science, are acceptable.
  • Any professional experience involving troubleshooting, root cause findings and failure analysis with a strong customer focus. 
  • Prior NOC (Network Operations Center) experience is also helpful, though not a mandatory prerequisite.
  • Prior experience with vendors/suppliers is helpful while holding them accountable for component deliverables and resolution.
  • Ideal candidates possess assertiveness, enthusiasm, strong aptitude, steady/calm demeanor, takes initiative, drive to create solutions, willingness to learn, and strong problem-solving abilities.
