City of Parramatta Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Ranger and Parking Service Team as a Ranger.

This position will be an Ambassador of Council and it is essential that you have the ability to provide excellent customer service and operate in a consistent, fair and equitable manner at all times.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Attending and Investigating Illegal Dumping, Rubbish found on Council Property.
  • Abandoned Vehicles and associated investigation and possible impounding requirements.
  • Pollution incidents on both land and water including environmental management.
  • Breach of building consent orders, noise and times of operation.
  • Outdoor Dining and Retail consent permits.
  • Illegal or unlawful burn-offs.
  • Investigations, compiling various brief of evidence and giving of evidence at court, and other position description related duties as required.

This position is also required to assist the Parking Officers with parking related matters and Animal Management and Enforcement Officers with the following duties:

  • Initial Investigation of animal complaints
  • the impounding of companion animals and livestock
  • transporting animals to Councils animal holding facility
  • assist Animal Management Staff in education programs and other related duties


To be successful in this role, you must have a current Class C driver’s licence as well as qualifications & extensive experience as outlined in the Position Description.

The successful candidate will be required to work a rotating roster across a variety of hours 7 days per week.
