Ajilon is seeking a Buyer-Planner for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client in the Indianapolis, Indiana. Our client is a major impact player within their industry and boasts a strong company culture with an amazing benefits package. If selected for this position, you would be responsible for overseeing both the direct purchasing of materials and the planning/scheduling of inventory. They offer a benefit package which includes multiple insurance plan options, a 401k match, and flex scheduling . The compensation is between $50-60K and will include a company bonus.

BUYER-PLANNER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute effective sourcing and purchasing strategies with new and existing business partners for all assigned categories/commodities
• Oversee material management and requisitions
• Conduct inventory analysis, ensure proper quantity levels, and assist with expedited deliveries when necessary
• Assist the Purchasing Manager in overseeing vendor selection and make purchasing decisions through competitive bidding and strategic sourcing processes
  
• Spearhead vendor negotiations to decrease prices for reoccurring purchases
• Direct a supply base that achieves benchmarks on quality, cost, delivery, and innovation
• Conduct in-depth cost and spend analyses within your department, develop cost savings initiatives, and achieve all cost reduction savings targets
• Stay abreast of industry trends and market developments in your respective categories

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or Business is preferred
• Minimum of three years of direct purchasing experience within a manufacturing setting is required
• Must have experience working within an ERP system
  
• Must possess a track record of being a results-driven person who consistently meets and exceeds organizational goals
  
• Must be a natural problem-solver who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be proficient with leading negotiations for high value contracts
• Strong understanding of RFI/RFQ sourcing processes is required
