First Line Support Technician

About the Role

An enthusiastic and versatile individual is required to join an established technical helpdesk team. Role to focus on, but not limited to, the proactive management of our customers’ existing and new infrastructures, identify areas for improvement and implement relevant changes to ultimately improve the end user customer experience. This may require occasional shift work to ensure any planned work does not interfere with our customers day to day operational activities, cover for colleagues based in London will be required as and when required.


About You
Candidates should have experience in providing technical support in a help-desk environment or other relevant experience in a customer service oriented and customer facing environment.


Essential skills:

  • A professional and confident manner
  • Understanding of Active Directory/Group Policies
  • Understanding of anti-virus products and technologies
  • A good working knowledge of PC hardware, networking principles and Microsoft Server
  • Operating systems
  • Well-presented and a welcoming and friendly manner
  • Efficient and professional
  • Good time management
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Ability to think laterally under pressure

 

Advantageous skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
  • Strong working knowledge of Citrix
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft RDS
  • Scripting (Powershell etc)
  • Veeam knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Citrix / Microsoft RDS / SQL / Solarwinds Nable
  • Working knowledge of backup technologies

 

Qualifications and Certifications

Minimum GCSE or equivalent Maths and English - grade C or above
