Company Name: AIRY3D
Location: Canada
We’re looking for an energetic person to join our optical testing team. If you enjoy the challenge of working on a mixture of software and hardware projects with an emphasis on optical testing and you’re excited about the prospect of being part of a dynamic start-up environment, then this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Who are we and what do we do?
We are a rapidly growing team looking for people who share our passion for developing solutions at the intersection of imaging and depth. AIRY3D has developed DepthIQ™, a 3D computer vision platform that consists of a Transmissive Diffraction Mask and computational imaging software that can convert any camera sensor into a versatile 3D sensor at a fraction of the manufacturing cost.
Based in Montreal, AIRY3D recently raised US$10 million in series A funding led by Intel Capital. This financing will allow AIRY3D to advance its licensing roadmap for the first commercial adoptions of DepthIQ 3D by top-tier consumer electronics companies in mobile and other markets such as automotive and AR/VR.
What are we looking for?
As a member of our optics team, you will be responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of our optical testing and quality assurance programs. You will also work closely with both our product and research and development teams to strengthen our DepthIQ platform and broaden our potential end-user applications.
What you will do:
Perform sophisticated image quality and depth quality testing in our optics lab.
Analyze depth images to strengthen the understanding of our hardware and software.
Design and construct testing systems and demonstration devices.
Benchmark testing protocols and implement creative solutions to improve their efficiency.
What you bring to our team
- Bachelor’s or College (DEC/DCS) degree in applied or physical sciences.
- Demonstrated experience performing, automating, and optimizing optical testing procedures.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Strong data analysis skills.
- Proficiency with general mechanical and electronics assembly and design.
- Experience with ImageJ and C++ is considered an asset.
Bonus points:
- Interest in photography.
- Knowledge of various image formats and readouts.
- Cool side projects!
What’s it like working on our team?
We believe in creating disruptive technology in a workplace with great work ethics, where we truly enjoy what we are doing and the diversity of those we work with. All while having fun and not taking ourselves too seriously! We offer a flexible schedule, vibrant Mile End location, health insurance, and stock options. If you are genuinely excited about contributing to our success, we’d love to hear from you.
What comes next?
If you think this challenge is right for you, we encourage you to apply. Our application process is quite simple so, it won't take long.
What does the interview process involve?
The first step is a conversation with Pivot + Edge where the focus will be on the human side of things. If you exhibit a high potential to be successful in our environment, you may be asked to visit our office where you'll be able to meet some of the management team and team members. Throughout the process, we want to make sure that we’re the right fit for each other – both technically and culturally – so please interview us at every step!
