While reporting to the Plant Manager, you will have full responsibility for managing Maintenance staff as well as strategic initiatives around maintenance and engineering within a large complex manufacturing operation. By achieving the highest level of reliability for plant equipment through committed support for the Sonoco Performance Systems (SPS) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and strong ownership of the Maintenance Excellence process within their plant.

  • You will manage and/or implement a reliability – centered maintenance process that drives lower operational costs (ie. Improved uptime, increased productivity, optimum labor and increased equipment lifespan).
  • You will work cross functionally with plant SPS (TPM) steering team to effectively deploy Maintenance Excellence and support corporate SPS initiatives
  • You will work towards the goal of achieving Zero breakdown losses by creating an environment where personnel are fully engaged, ensuring teamwork and cooperation.
  • You will create/maintain a culture where and maintenance work together.
  • You will implement/work with cutting-edge technology to improve plant operations and eliminate losses.
This position is located in Dayton, NJ in our Rigid Paper and Closures division. We are seeking a high potential candidate with the desire for a significant amount of responsibility now as well as the opportunity to develop and grow his or her career.

  • A Bachelor’s in engineering or related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience with manufacturing maintenance and 5+ supervisory background and/or 4+ years military leadership experience in a technical field
  • Additionally, we highly prefer an individual with a solid manufacturing excellence/TPM and reliability background
  • Experience with CMMS preferred
