2020 Summer Internship - Mechanical Engineer

The purpose of this internship is to prepare college juniors and seniors for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization to include theory and practical application of attained knowledge. Project work will differ in each area depending on business needs, and all interns will participate in the US Zebra Internship Program. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

The Mechanical Design Team consists of several mechanical engineers based in NY, Canada, and Taiwan. The intern will work primarily with engineers located in NY. Engineers collaborate with several functional teams to design, build, and test products. Team members are responsible for bringing products from a concept design to a finished good.

  • Intern will provide active project support for the Enterprise Mobile Computing products and/or proof of concept projects
  • Intern project will involve design, brainstorming, documentation, testing, etc.
  • Intern will perform benchmarking of Zebra and competitor products.
  • Intern will collaborate with other team members to provide project updates and acquire and share information

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program studying Mechanical Engineering. If an undergraduate, must be at the rising sophomore, junior or senior level
  • Preferred experience in 3D Cad and prototyping

  • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic and/or extracurricular experiences
