Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Research Associate

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

• working on next-generation sequencing (NGS) based projects as assigned by the research team
• run NGS bench processing of samples; human and pathogen for DNA and RNA anlaysis
• maintaining NGS laboratory equipment
• assist in sequence data handling, compilation & analysis
• assist in preparing reports, manuscripts, projects & abstracts for publication/presentation as
• assist in grant preparation
• assist in preparation of CME, symposia, workshops and conferences
• any other duty or responsibility assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements

You should have:

• Masters in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Genetics or equivalent qualification in a related area 2-3 years of related work experience
• Laboratory bench experience of 3 or more years in handling nucleic acid based testing and preferably DNA sequencing.
• ability to do literature search for project, to perform data analysis and to write
• good observational and interviewing skills
• strong communication and interpersonal skills
• ability to work independently.
