GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Business Analyst’s primary responsibilities are to: (1) Collect, understand, model, and document all types of software system requirements on complex, longer-term, cross-departmental projects; (2) Lead the effort to understand and model all complex business processes to be supported by the system; and (3) Collaborate with directors, managers, business staff, and technical staff when performing duties associated with business systems analysis.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Serves as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams to deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (Business Requirements Document), Use Cases, and user interface designs.

· Mentors, provides guidance, training and functional advice to others on project management teams.

· Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.

· Reviews requirements documented as stories in Agile Project Management software (e.g. Visual Studio Team Services, JIRA Agile) to ensure stories are ready for the next step in the development process.

· Leads the effort to develop and/or maintain various kinds of business process models and data flow models. Leads the effort to develop use cases and other types of documents that provide detail for complex requirements.

· Partners with QA team to provide input for software evaluations.

· Partners with QA team throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle to ensure that the developed solution meets business requirements

· Manages change requests related to the working project plans daily to meet the agreed deadlines.

 

MUST HAVE SKILLS (5 years):

·  Demonstrated experience as a Senior Business Analyst

· Demonstrated data-oriented work experience with a high proficiency working with complex data

· Demonstrated data mapping experience creating mapping rules from source to target with complex transformations.

 

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS (3 years):

· Experience with financial data and terminology

· Knowledge of Data modeling concepts (relational, dimensional, etc.)

· SQL expertise

· Knowledge of SSIS development

·  Familiarity with Visual Studio

·  Knowledge of Azure environment (VM, PaaS, AAD, etc.)

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

·Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in business or management is required; a BA or BS degree in Finance or Business Information Systems is preferred.

· A Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) or equivalent is preferred.

· At least (5) years prior experience as a Senior Business Analyst is required.

· At least (7) years of overall Business Analysis experience is required.

· Experience with the following is required: MS Project or other project management tools, MS Office, business plans, project planning documents, business process modeling software (such as BPwin or Visio), test planning, and financial data.

· Experience with analytics applications and query tools is required.

· The ability to understand the role of the Product Owner on a project utilizing Agile methods of software development is preferred.

· Familiarity with the securities industry, financial data, preferred.

· Experience with the full design and software development life cycle (SDLC) required, including familiarity with various project management approaches/methodologies.

· Excellent interpersonal skills are required.

· Attention to detail, strong problem solving and organizational skills required.

· Must already be authorized to work in the USA.
