My Client is looking for a Commercial Finance Manager to provide Financial Leadership to the Commercial teams (Sales, Commercial Operations, Application Engineering, Pricing) and help identifying risks/mitigation strategies while maximizing financial returns for the company. The Commercial Finance Manager is responsible for process improvements to drive commercial/underwriting excellence and simplification. You would be accountable for the accuracy of the financial metrics at ITO stage (Costing, Margins, cash curves, revenue recognition, NPV).
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives aiming at improving the ITO process efficiency (policies, automation, standardization, digitization); aligning standards to market best practices and reducing offer/bid turnaround time.
- Contract review to identify and mitigate commercial and financial risks. Working with other departments (e.g. Sales/Commercial Operations/Pricing/Tax) to structure and negotiate deals that maximize project margin and minimize exposure to risk.
- Assess customer creditworthiness and financing structures prior to bid submission.
- Negotiate appropriate payment security and payment schedules.
- Work with the Global Markets team and potential external players to offer customers alternatives to traditional financing options.
- Negotiate and manage Letters of Credits, Foreign Exchange transactions, and other financial guarantees to be issued for the contracts.
- Drive price on new orders; Use competitive analysis to provide insights on deal sensitivities.
- Structure Terms & Conditions to optimize revenue recognition, cash, tax structure & tax compliance and reduce exposure to risk.
- Fully understand project scope of supply and ensure completeness and accuracy of the costing factors.
- Participate in deal reviews and prepare cost summaries for presentation to Senior Management approval.
- Focus on strengthening of ITO process to drive the accuracy of sales, margin, and cash from new orders forecasts.
- Own commercial data tracking (Orders/Commitments/cash flows/ finances per deal) and analysis for pacing (QMI) and planning cycles (Growth Playbook, OP, Monthly Business reviews, SII).
- Track Orders and Commitments Backlog.
- Assist Finance with Revenue Recognition Timing.
- Assist in special projects as defined by Finance and Sales
