About the role
An excellent temporary opportunity has arisen for two (2) capable and experienced professionals to join our motivated and forward looking Development Assessment team.

The City of Parramatta has been experiencing unprecedented growth which includes infill developments and urban renewal with significant challenges.

These positions will play a key role in actively contributing to the on-going improvements to the delivery of our services and to a positive, customer focused culture. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for assessing, processing and managing development applications and providing planning advice to ensure the city planning objectives of the City of Parramatta’s town planning policies are delivered in development outcomes.

These positions are central to the success of our plans and we require the successful candidate to have experience in the assessment of development applications and the ability to operate effectively in a political and commercial environment, within one of our high performing development assessment teams supported by a multidisciplinary team of technical specialists. Each team is made up of planners of varying experience; with the more junior planners gaining valuable experience assisting the senior planners with some their more complicated applications.


About the person
The successful candidates should have previous experience in the assessment, management, and processing of Development Applications, hold a Degree in Town Planning or similar and a current Class C Drivers Licence. It would be preferred but not essential for applicants to have experience as a Town Planner in an organisation with a similar diversity of commercial, industrial, residential and community development as the City of Parramatta.

What’s on offer
We are offering an attractive salary from $81,826 p.a. plus Super. City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which can be accessed by the successful candidate.
