Major Activities (Purpose/Summary)

The Helpdesk Engineer is responsible for monitoring and maintaining systems, participates in planning capacity, helps employees with desktop problems and provides expertise to keep the servers and network running at their site and potentially other Cardlytics sites.

Job Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for installation, configuration, repair and replacement of workstation hardware components and software applications.
  • Provides expertise, support and direction on corporate network issues including active directory, DNS, DHCP, virus prevention), backup issues, email concerns and general network permission structure
  • Supports local network infrastructure including local servers, backup devices, and policies for such – VMWare Experience preferable.
  • Works closely with all employees at all supported sites to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operation of network client workstations, operating systems, and all related peripherals.
  • Works closely with all other IT staff to support in-house and corporate technology objectives.
  • Supports the IT department management with planning, administration, and execution of corporate and site-level policies and initiatives on all levels.
  • Responsible for supporting local site moves; addition and changes associated with new hires and departmental transfers. This includes creation/modification of network user accounts and workstation setup.
  • Physical maintenance of all office equipment including but not exclusive to printers, faxes, telephones, PC’s, projectors and other electronic equipment.
  • Demonstrates ability to apply professional engineering principles and skills and has ability to communicate complex technical concepts to individuals with varying technical ability

Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with
    • Microsoft server networking, permissions, security, and active directory
    • Microsoft desktop applications and operating systems and how they interact with Microsoft networks
    • PC hardware, including desktop, notebook (laptop) and severs
    • Administering Microsoft server operating systems including active directory
    • Configuration and troubleshooting of workstation hardware and peripherals.
    • Troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining Microsoft desktop operating systems
    • Troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining Microsoft Office applications in a network environment
    • Constructing, repairing, and troubleshooting network cabling technologies.
  • General experience with network protocols, design and maintenance
  • VOIP, wireless lan, switching, and routing experience preferred
  • Antivirus technology and attack remediation experience
  • Printing Troubleshooting (PaperCut experience preferable)
  • Collaboration Tool Support (Jira / Slack / Salesforce / Zoom)
  • Wireless Access Point setup and maintenance
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, VB, etc.)
  • Linux skills preferable
  • Build and imaging experience
  • Small Project management

Documentation and Training
  • Writes and maintains complete and concise technical and project documentation
  • Presents training presentations on multiple technical levels
