Long-term Contract Waste Specialist

Key Responsibilities for the Position

• Review and approval of submitted profiles for potential waste streams to be shipped to facility;
• Coordination of profiles for wastes and recyclable streams shipped outbound from facilities;
• Review and confirm waste manifests, shipping documents, as well as certificates of disposal, recycling, and destruction.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate excellence in the areas of:

• Waste profiling processes;
• Knowledge of the waste and waste recycling industries in the United States;
• Organizational skills;
• Ability to prioritize assignments and execute within established deadlines;
• Written and verbal communication skills; and
• Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access);

Basic Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree OR an Associate degree in a science based program.
• 2-5 years of experience in the EHS field with an emphasis in the areas of waste management through either on-the-job training or coursework.  Manifesting and profiling hazardous and non-hazardous waste experience a plus.
• Knowledge of chemical incompatibilities and ability to recognize indicators of unstable chemicals through visual inspection and take the appropriate response actions;
• RCRA and DOT regulatory compliance experience a plus.
